Ahh May… That period between autumn and winter when it’s hot in the day and cold at night.
Personally, I love winter. I find it a lot easier to get warm when it’s cold, than to get cool when it’s hot. If I could, I would wear trackies and a hoody 24/7. But no, this unusual hybrid of seasons (which I have named wintumn) just can’t decide whether it wants me to sweat or shiver!
I know that the Northern Hemisphere is the complete opposite, but I’m curious as to how different their seasons actually are. For one, it doesn’t snow here as it does in many countries north of the border, but that’s just a matter of how close you are to the equator.
What I want to know is whether people up north experience seasons who are trying to find their identity, who don’t know if they’re hot, cold, or somewhere in between. Surely I’m not the only one who walks outside the morning after a cool autumn night only to get hit by an unexpected heat wave?
And forgive me for talking about the seasons as if they are a troubled teen, but I really feel like mother-earth just can’t make her mind up at the moment! Am I alone?
Well it’s getting close to midday, so I think it’s time to slip in to something more comfortable. So until next time…
Happy readin’
